Taking Online Exam
During a pandemic, taking physical exams is not always an option, so the next best thing is to do our examinations at home. I wondered how they were going to make sure students weren’t going to cheat and all that. Eventually, we got emails regarding how the exams were going to be taken, the rules were stated and a picture was provided of how we were meant to set up for the exams.
We were meant to have a mirror that was going to be placed beside the one taking the exams, with the computer on the other side. That way, they could check the computer for any other open tabs or any cheat sheets on the table. I agreed with their train of thought, however, I really didn’t know what to do since I didn’t have a moveable mirror and I couldn’t go out to buy one.
So, they came up with a solution: I could use another device in place of the mirror, which includes logging into the Google Meeting on two devices to see both sides. It solved the issue easily and so I could take the exams without needing to make any more expenses.
Before the exams started, I was a nervous wreck, and rightfully so, despite trying to study the topics for the exams, my mind constantly wandered and refused to read the blocky words in the textbook. However, the exams went alright, without any technical issues and unexpected hurdles, apart from the exam questions.
In my opinion, I wouldn’t have minded taking either physical or online exams; it really just depended on whether or not I had studied hard enough previously. Maybe then I wouldn’t have felt so bad after finishing my papers.
