The Cosplay Day

On Friday, June 30, 2023, it was Cosplay Day at Wembley International School. I was dressed in a T-shirt with minions printed on it. My classmates were all dressed up in different costumes. They dressed themselves as ninjas, Captain America, Spiderman, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Other classes also had costumes on, including a banana, Mario, and a Disney Princess. Many Japanese fictional characters appeared, including Ichigo Kurosaki, Nezuko Kamado, and Zenitsu Agatsuma.

After a quick lunch, the juniors gathered in Hall 1 and the seniors in Hall 2. The celebration began with a parade of each class. Every class displayed their stunning outfits. The kids marched in wearing colourful and innovative attire. There was a lot of appreciation and enthusiasm in the air. It was a sight to behold as students proudly strutted their stuff on stage, exhibiting their uniqueness and enjoyment of dressing up. Cheers and applause echoed across the crowd, and the atmosphere was contagious. The level of ingenuity and diversity on show was astounding, making it difficult to pick a favourite among them all.

The activities were very enjoyable to take part in. As a task, we fashioned hair from threads using metal forks and scissors. Our images had also been taken by the teachers. With the help of the teachers, the lower juniors created masks. They utilised vibrant papers, feathers, and glitter to create one-of-a-kind and inventive masterpieces. There were also dance performances, which contributed to the event’s atmosphere. The pupils had been working on their routines and synchronising their actions for weeks. The music filled the air as they danced passionately and precisely, leaving everyone in amazement of their ability. Overall, it was a fun day full of laughing, creativity, and individualism. It was a reminder that we are all unique and have something special to offer.

My sister’s representation of Elsa was lovely, captivating everyone in the audience’s hearts. Meanwhile, my older brother’s portrayal of Mr. Bean had us all in stitches with his great comedic timing. The cosplay event had been a highlight of the day, allowing us to express our creativity while immersing ourselves in a fantasy and imagination world. Following the conclusion of the cosplay event, a sports house meeting was held at Hall for all Sapphire members. The sun was setting as we left the school at 4.30 p.m., sending a warm golden glow across the horizon. From the enthralling performances on stage to the enthusiastic camaraderie during the sports house meeting, the day had been packed with excitement and delight.
