When the rusty metal doors of the ship calmly folded open, Joshua, a brave young giant, dashed out. His backpack roughly grazed against the doors, disturbing the many colorful badges that gripped it in the process. He had just returned from a long journey. With no regard for the condition of his accessories, he sprinted to the entrance of his country, “Hoam” and hastily knocked some beats with a specific rhythm on one of the giant snow-white gates.
“Welcome home sir!” the guardian of the gates cheered as she elegantly pulled the gates aside. Joshua didn’t even glance or utter a single word of greeting at her before hurrying past and tossing his bag across the vast golden rice field. Joshua pursued his worried carelessness as he bolted through the well-constructed state of “Downstehs” and up the sky-high spiraling steps that led to the state of “Upstehs”. Joshua panted frantically while holding onto a great wall for support. He raised his eyes and scanned the entire state from his bird’s-eye view to look for his city. As soon as he noticed the familiar gate, Joshua scurried to the location.
It was his first time leaving his village unattended for over a day. He was forced to attend Kinder’s Guarding School in another country by the guardian of the gates herself. She threatened to hide Joshua’s city if he refused and told him that going to the Guarding school is essential in learning how to be a great guardian like herself. However, Joshua was worried that his beloved city might be raided and destroyed during his absence. Joshua was a giant, and giants build and protect their cities from evil such as the Black Sphinx which is a large swift furry creature just a little smaller than himself. Because of such responsibilities, Joshua had refused to travel away from “Hoam”.
In his panic, he forcefully slammed open the gate. “Bang!” the sound popped when the door frame knocked against the metal pole of the wall. Disoriented and out of breath, Joshua loosely bent down with his knees supporting his hands and took a huge gulp of air. He squinted his eyes and then opened them to see his bedroom. His toys of colorful miniature houses and tiny Lego men lay there peacefully, safe, and sound just as he left them. Joshua was relieved. He removed his white socks, flung them high onto the double-decker bed, then waddled enthusiastically closer to his Lego village. Leaning heavily above his town, he giggled and began to wonder about his imaginary world once again.
