It’s that time of year again, when IGCSE examinations are approaching, and students may be feeling a little anxious. Despite spending the entire year immersed in their texts, IGCSE students are frequently agitated, burned out, and fatigued. Students may forget what they have learned because of their worries. This does not have to be the case if students develop easy habits to help them focus on and remain calm. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind before the IGCSE exams begin.

Tip 1: Take advantage of your biological clock.

Students who are not morning people may find it difficult to complete papers before lunchtime and stumbling into the exam hall half asleep can have a significant impact on their performance. Make sure to begin sleeping and waking at reasonable hours so that your mind has time to warm up and you are at your best when the exams begin.

Tip 2: Make a revision plan.

You’ve heard it said that failing to plan is intending to fail. Sticking to a well-planned schedule not only ensures discipline and allows you to set realistic study goals, but it also allows you to enjoy your breaks more. Instead of clinging to one subject for an extended amount of time, study each subject in rotation for greater retention.

Tip 3: Reward yourself and take some time off.

If you set tiny, attainable goals for yourself and then reward yourself, revising can be a pleasurable experience.

Tip 4: Keep to tried-and-true methods.

Avoid trying new things closer to the exam, as this may cause confidence issues and schedule disruption. Trying difficult new questions, a day or two before the exam may create stomach trouble, while a different sleep routine may impact alertness.

Tip 5: Look through work before sleeping

Before you go to sleep, look at your work as studying concepts right before going to bed, especially if the information is fresh, improves retention.
