Wembley Academy successfully organized English Week from 3rd to 7th February. Many exciting activities were held during the entire week. Among them were Word Search, Spelling Bee, Naming Objects for the junior students, Treasure Hunt and many more.
As acknowledged globally, English is the language of science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism. Knowing English increases your chances of getting a job in multinational companies within your home country or abroad. It’s also the language of international communication, the media and the internet, so learning English is extremely important. It is also a language commonly used for socialising and entertainment as well as work.
According to one of the students of Wembley during English Week, “English is the most important subject that a child can learn in school. Without knowing proper English, a child will not be able to communicate effectively and would be shut off from a holistic education. A person who is not fluent in English limits his or her ability to achieve their highest potential.”
Back to the English Week activities in our school, it was really heart-warming to see all students and teachers give their best to make the events happen, and that the events carried a lot of fun and exciting elements.
Students were divided according to their sports house teams of: Ruby, Citrine, Sapphire and Emerald. Within these teams, they were divided into junior and senior categories to ensure the activities were age appropriate.
English Week ended brilliantly with Citrine winning the overall house points followed by Sapphire. Heartiest congratulations to the winning team for never giving up and putting forth their best and to the rest of the teams who worked very hard under this healthy competition.
